The most common device used while scouting is a PDA and some sort of scanner. PDA's are becomming more scarce as time goes by. However, you can still find a PDA with Windows Mobile Operating System. They are still out there to be purchased.
While PDA's are diminishing, there are plenty of phones that utilize Windows Mobile Operating System. ScoutPal has taken advantage of a phone that has Windows Mobile O.S. that will work with ScoutPalDB.
We have recently added a new hardware setup for our customers. The Samsung Omnia II and Scan Fob 2002. The Samsung is a phone that has Windows Mobile O.S. and the Scan Fob is a Cordles Hand Scanner that uses Bluetooth. The great thing about the Omnia II is that you can activate the phone and do "Live" look ups as well as using ScoutPals Database. Or, you can leave the phone un-activated and just use the Windows Mobile Operating System with ScoutPalDB. The Scan Fob is a powerful little scanner that can fit into the coin pocket of your blue jeans!
The Scan Fob 2002 is a diverse handheld Bluetooth scanner. You can use it with iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Windows 7/2008/Vista/2003/XP, BlackBerry, Android, Symbian S60, Windows Mobile, J2ME, PalmOS, and more!
